Coaching

Modern Art

"Danny was a great manager and mentor for me, especially in my first 'proper job'.  He is a great team player, leader and motivator and a brilliant specialist in his field (young people)."

Chenine Bhathena MBE - Assistant Director, Culture, Tourism and Sport, Brighton and Hove.

"Danny is a very good listener and tailors the coaching very well to specific things you feel you need. He is very insightful and easy to talk to, and I found his coaching tips help with motivation and confidence."

Ziggy - Undergraduate Student

Over the past three decades and more, I've been coaching young people, students and fellow professionals without knowing what I was doing was coaching.  In the past few years, coaching has become the heart of my work, developing my own ways of working and gaining a distinction for my Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.

In 2022, I became a Fellow of CollectivED: Carnegie School of Education in acknowledgement of my "contribution to building connected communities of education practitioners and researchers".

Who can benefit from my coaching?

  • Arts and charity professionals, particularly leaders needing more support

  • 16-25 year olds struggling with their direction

  • Professionals seeking to develop their public presentation skills

  • Playwrights wanting dramaturgy support

  • Adults feeling 'stuck' in their working lives.

My Way of Working

My  approach is holistic.  The main aim is for you to have a useful and sustaining set of tools to achieve your goals and to flourish. I use a variety of approaches based on active listening and incisive questioning which I'll tailor to your needs.  We'll explore your values, strengths, and wider sense of purpose.  That way, you'll find practical ways to tackle those thorny issues that we all experience at work, home and the spaces in-between.   Coaching is a non-therapeutic intervention intended for those that want to make changes in their lives.  Typically, I will agree with you a series of 5 to 10 sessions in advance, with top-ups as appropriate .

Group Coaching for Young Adults in Transition

My ongoing research has resulted in a toolkit for young adults (aged 16-25).  This is a group coaching programme, combining group sessions with a support programme of one-to-ones, peer support and online materials.  The coaching is grounded in unlocking each student's intrinsic motivation - encouraging a shift to create a greater sense of agency, connectedness and capability.  Results show that not only do students achieve more and experience better mental health, but that their institution retains them when they might otherwise have dropped out.

How much does this cost?

Individual coaching

I operate a 'pay what you can' approach to one-to-one coaching.  This is because I don't want fees to be a barrier to the services I offer.

Coaching for organisations

Following a free initial consultation, I will provide you with a quotation for the work if we both think the coaching will be a good fit.
